Considerable reflection upon my history with Angie has revealed the absolute, unmistakable, and frustrating truth that we succeeded best as a team when I listen to her. She is happiest, like most wives, when she knows I am listening (and obeying).
There is something for male readers to consider: wives want you to LISTEN. I suck at it, and am still trying to get it right. My daughters routinely hit me over the head about this, but Angie is somewhat more gentle in her administrations.
It is also about what I can do to demonstrate gratitude and adoration for who she is. Funny, I kind of get a rush now not only focusing on what I can do TO her, but more on what I can do FOR her, that elicits her sense of joy.
So, I guess this is all about my desire to see her happier than ever before, and willing to do what ever is possible to see that it becomes reality. I am not uxorious yet….but maybe getting there.
