Where is this going?

Our interaction with this blog has slowed down over the last few months as Angie and I have immersed ourselves in our home, family and work life. The holidays in November and December put an uptick on the activity meter for sure, but we have not been investing much time in social events outside of the occasional vanilla evening with friends from our college years and neighborhood.

Angie’s thing with James settled into an every other week routine through the fall of last year, and January of this year. It’s ironic that what started out as a trepidatious adventure into uncharted waters has become almost mundane. It has been enjoyable for both of us for sure. Angie has enjoyed getting fucked into multiple orgasms on a regular basis, and happy with the fact her relationship with James is relatively uncomplicated. He is not clingy, needy, or possessive. She tells me he is easy going and has a good sense of humor, and that they spend as much time just talking about things, interests, and life, as shagging each other into stupefaction when they get together. Cool. But it seems they are getting together with less frequency. Maybe the holiday season has had a lot to do with what seems like a slow down.

I found myself thinking about the foursome Angie and I had with Lori and Paul almost a year ago. Lori occasionally sends texts to Angie, and says she’ll be in the area again soon. I have to wonder if anything like that weekend could ever be recreated even if we do get back together. I occasionally think how much fun it would be to find another couple with whom we could immerse ourselves in the lifestyle. Though my predilection for “this thing of ours” is something that dawned on me a few years ago, it has nevertheless been a personal epiphany to truly understand how much I like polyamory. Angie is in the same place to a degree, given her own awakening, but while she likes the idea of having a lover, she is not as comfortable with the notion of a foursome. Lori and Paul were possibly the rare exception.
